SoRare Review

SoRare is a fantasy soccer game based on blockchain, where users can trade players, participate in tournaments, and compete for thousands of pounds worth of prizes…. Every single week. It has a fantastic process where cards are limited in supply, meaning that owning the best players is rewarding, both on the court and when trading! Remember that you will get 10 free tickets when you register here.

The good news is that you can also get a free ticket with the link above if you buy 5 tickets. Each season there is a limited supply of tickets that never expire. Participation in tournaments is also free, meaning there is no limit to the number of tournaments you can participate in. It’s a new concept, but it’s already exceeding expectations. I’ve tried it out and I’m a big fan.

What sets SoRare apart from the competition is the level of prizes, the use of official blockchain cards, and the support the game receives from major gaming brands – most notably ConSensys, Ubisoft, and Opta. With this level of support, it’s no surprise that the fantasy soccer franchise has the support of 41 soccer clubs – and counting.

So with the momentum Sorare is gaining in 2020, it was only a matter of time before the game caught the attention of the mainstream. If it has yours too, here’s everything you need to know to get started right away. We’ll discuss everything in this SoRare review, from what Sorare SO5 is, how to play, tips and tricks, and my in-depth Sorare review – you’ve got it all here. Let’s get started.

How to Play SoRare

I have a lot to say about the gameplay, but to get the most out of this guide, I’ll include it in the Sorare review section. However, setting up is a really straightforward process:

Create your first team. Sign up for Sorare for the first time, and you will immediately receive 10 shared cards.

  • Register your first team in the Rookie League. This league is reserved for new players, called managers.
  • Build your first team. You will need to select a total of 5 cards.
  • Participate in up to 4 leagues or play for 4 weeks and you will be promoted to new manager. Congratulations!
  • Build your team with player cards you have won or trade some on the transfer market.
  • One of the best features of Sorare SO5 in the early game is the number of resources that will help you build your skills as a manager. Check out Sorare’s website here.

There is also a Sorare Twitter account that you can follow, but I haven’t gained much insight into the game through that platform. They’ve only been around for about a year, but they’re starting to grow more now & I expect the social media pages to grow with them.

How to buy and sell Players

We understand if bidding is not your thing. It’s super fun, but it can often be the opposite when bidding gets pretty stressful in the latter stages of the auction. It’s very different from the soccer index. SoRare also has a market where dealers can list their cards for sale, kind of like an eBay ‘buy it now’ listing. There are no auctions between managers, a simple pricing structure to get the card.

To buy from other managers, simply press on the transfer market and then select the ‘Manager Sales’ option, which shows all the cards that other managers are currently selling.

You will notice the “Sell my card” option. Click it and enter the price you want to get for the player.

Your card will be put up for sale and will be available for other managers to buy. This is not an auction, but a simple market where another trader would meet your asking price and act immediately. It is important that you know this, so do not start cards at a low price in anticipation of an auction! If the card is not sold within 2 days, the sale will be cancelled. However, you can put that player up for sale again. You can also cancel the original sale if you think you put the player up for sale too cheaply. You can then select all the players you want to buy and buy them. The prices are fixed and each offer is active for two days.

  1. CryptoFish

A good fantasy/collectible NFT product. I got into it early enough that goalies didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. Hopefully with the talk and potential new rarity level, that will change and allow new users to fully dive into this product and win some decent cards. There are a lot of spin-offs now.

Only four stars, as we haven’t activated all leagues and teams yet. It’s still early, and if I were new, there’s no way I could afford to do it right, as prices have exceeded the basic 0.02 eth reward. Goalies are very expensive now and the amount of people spamming referral codes, even to people who have been using the product for months, is annoying.

If one has a tight budget, I would definitely wait for the new shortage level. If you have a good budget, I would look to get in, as it was the best NFT game I could see in my research, and it seems to have a solid team and developers behind it.

+ PROS: best crypto game in my opinion
    - CONS: not all teams/players are available right now
